Durban
In Durban, I met KZN Chapter members and spent some very productive time with Chapter
leader David White, our communications team, and a number of other members.
Johannesburg
While I was in Johannesburg the Gauteng Chapter were honoured to be hosted by Standard
Bank in their wonderful facilities in Rosebank for a panel discussion on whether ESG is
good for the economy. Webber Wentzel provided a legal perspective, while PwC explored
the economic impact, and Standard Bank the banking and finance perspective, with Nicky
Newton-King rounding off the discussion with a practical corporate view on ‘the art of the
possible’. A replay of this discussion is available on our YouTube channel.
Into the Wilds
The highlight of any trip to South Africa for me is to go out into the bush, get dust under my
fingernails and allow nature to inspire me with its beauty. Between Phinda and Timbavati
nature reserves I had the honour of seeing the Big Five, and at the latter, two of the only
five remaining white lions in the wild.
