HIGH IMPACT INITIATIVES
After the prioritisation session with the MDS Leadership team, The Strategy Group proposed to jointly further develop solutions so that MDS has a combination of short and long-term initiatives to drive tangible business outcomes. Based on the feedback received, two solutions were chosen to be explored further in terms of their business models and strategy. The ideas have been designed from a customer desirability perspective, and need further development from a viability and feasibility perspective, which will lead to further innovation of the concepts as well as unpack the detail required for implementation.

ACTIVELY BUILD PARTNERSHIPS
Actively identifying and nurturing partnerships with key stakeholders in the community
‘Actively building partnerships’ is a medium-term initiative
and was prioritised on the basis that it seemed to be the initiative with the greatest impact along with a relatively low degree of time and effort. It is believed that this solution can greatly improve the ‘start’ of the MDS customer journey. In this instance, forming and nurturing the right partnerships will prove beneficial to entice participants and families into MDS.
LAUNCH A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE
Providing meaningful work experience for MDS participants while expanding MDS’ revenue streams
‘Building a new social enterprise’ is a higher value initiative and was prioritised as a longer-term initiative to help move MDS into new horizons of growth. A new business model was developed for this initiative.
