WHY SHOULD WE DO THIS AND WHAT’S THE BENEFITS?
• The purpose of the lessons learned initiative is to formally document the key
learnings of the project for the future similar projects.
• This document should be used as part of any new planning for similar projects in
order to determine what problems occurred and how those problems were handled
and may be avoided in the future.
• Additionally, this document details what went well with the project and why, so that
other project managers may capitalize on these actions.
• The ultimate purpose of documented lessons learned is to provide future project
teams with information that can increase effectiveness and efficiency and to build on
the experience that has been earned by each completed project.
• To introduce the operator (facility management company) requirement throughout
the project lifecycle to ensure smooth transition to customers and to service delivery
vehicle (SDV).
