Celia Keenan
Celia Keenan is director of the MA Programme in children’s literature, and a senior lecturer
in English, at St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra. She is a member
of the executive committee and former president and founding member of ISSCL, The Irish Society for the Study of Children’s Literature. She co-edited Studies in Children’s Literature 1500-2000, (Four Courts, 2004), and Treasure Islands: studies in children’s literature (Four Courts, 2006), The Big Guide to Irish Children's Books (1996)
and The Big Guide 2: Irish children's books (2000). She is a regular contributor to INIS.
Máire Kennedy
Máire Kennedy is Divisional Librarian with Dublin City Public Libraries in charge of Special Collections (early printed books and manuscripts). Her PhD in Book History is from UCD.
She has published widely in
Irish and international journals, and she is the author of French Books in Eighteenth-Century Ireland (Oxford, 2001). With Bernadette Cunningham, she edited The Experience of Reading: Irish historical perspectives
(Dublin, 1999), and she has two chapters in The History of the
Irish Book, volume III, The Irish Book in English 1550-1800 (Oxford, 2005).
Ian Campbell Ross
Ian Campbell Ross is author
of Swist's Ireland (1983) and co- editor of Locating Swist (1998),
as well as having written a number of articles on Swist's life and work. His other works include Public Virtue, Public Love: the early years of the Dublin Lying-in Hospital,
the Rotunda (1986), and Laurence Sterne: a life (2001). Aside
from his work on the eighteenth century, he has also written Umbria: a cultural history
(1995) and translated Gian Gaspare Napolitano’s To War
with The Black Watch (2007).
Mary Shine Thompson
Mary Shine Thompson is Dean
of Research and Humanities at
St. Patrick's College, Drumcondra. She is a founder member and current president of the Irish Society for the Study of Children’s Literature (ISSCL), a board member of Pœtry Ireland, and chair of the Bisto Book of the
Year Award 2006-7. Recent
books include Divided Worlds: studies in children’s literature, (2007), co-edited with Valerie Coghlan; Selected Plays by Austin Clarke (2005); Treasure Islands: studies in children’s literature (2005), and Studies in Children’s Literature (2004), co-edited with Celia Keenan. She has written biographical notes of authors
and story notes for the twenty Irish Independent Great Children’s Books (2006).
