Tenants Newsletter | Winter 2025\u000A Standards for AHBs \u2013 The role of AHBRA\u000ASection 37 of the Housing (Regulation of Approved Housing Bodies) Act 2019 provides for the drafting of standards for registered AHBs. It requires that the Regulator submit to the Minister draft standards covering matters relating to:\u000A\u2022 the governance of AHBs\u000A\u2022 the financial management of and financial\u000Areporting by AHBs\u000A\u2022 property and asset management by AHBs\u000A\u2022 tenancy management by AHBs\u000AThese standards for AHBs were developed following engagement with the AHB sector and a wide range of key stakeholders. The Standards are underpinned by the principles of proportionality, accountability, and transparency. They establish a set of outcomes that AHBs are required to achieve in order to demonstrate the protection of housing assets provided or managed by AHBs.\u000ATenancy Management by AHBs\u000AThe Tenancy Management Standard establishes a set of outcomes that AHBs are required to achieve in their management of tenancies and in their communication with tenants. It relates to ensuring that AHBs have effective policies and procedures for the delivery of tenant services.\u000AIt outlines the key outcomes that AHBs are required to achieve relating to their statutory, legal and compliance obligations, allocations, nominations, communication with tenants and tenant satisfaction.\u000Ahttps://www.ahbregulator.ie/app/uploads/2022/0 8/Tenancy-Management-Standard-Guidance- FINAL.pdf\u000AAll things rent\u000ADue to circumstances outside of our control the annual rent reviews for ALL NEHA tenants due to happen in September 2025, has been postponed until 2026.\u000ASome things to consider while waiting for us to contact your Keyholder link/Paper forms:\u000A1. Please notify us immediately if there are any\u000Achanges to your household, this includes occupant changes and income changes. As soon as you inform us of these changes, we can re-assess your rent, and changes can be made very quickly\u000A2. If there are rent changes on your account, it is the responsibility of tenants to increase/decrease their standing order. If your payment is processed through the Household Budget, you will need to reach out to us, and we can facilitate these changes\u000A3. If you are struggling with your rent payments, please contact your Housing Officer as soon as possible, having a conversation with your Housing Officer may prevent you entering our formal arrears process, and if we can assist you in any way we will\u000A4.
