Scaffold hitch or stage hitch: specifically designed to support a stage (see
page 160) or plank of wood. Tied at both ends, the hitch both holds the
stage horizontally and is also designed to prevent it from slipping. The
knot can be formed with or without horns (see page 96). Our illustrations
show both the stage and a horn.
