Cat’s paw: an efficient method for hitching a sling to a hook, provided
that both standing parts are under load. It prevents the rope from sliding
over the hook and thus ensures an even lift.

First lay out the rope to make a bight in the sling. Fold it down over the
standing parts to form two further bights.
