It was an honour and my duty to have scattered his ashes at Keerimalai, his final resting place. The sea seemed especially calm that day.
I'm happy he got to spend time with my wife Sweta, visiting us in Cambodia and Thailand and of course many times to Colombo and Jaffna. She enjoyed talking politics and cooking for him. He was always adventurous to try different foods and unfamiliar tastes. I know she will miss him dearly.
To the house we built. The films we made. The friends I inherited. We love you and owe you so much, Appa.
Sweta & Kannan
Appa was seventy-eight years old. Although retired for more than a decade he was planning to practice again back in Jaffna.
Nowadays, it's a relatively young age, and we feel sad that we could not spend more time together, especially with his grandsons Vedran and Milan.
