SERVING AS ONE 2019-2020
DISCIPLESHIP
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
At Scioto Ridge, we encounter God’s transformational grace by growing as disciples of Jesus Christ. A disciple knows what Jesus knew, does what Jesus did, and seeks to live like Jesus in God’s Kingdom. Disciples live life and serve together.
LifeGroups are small groups of people who meet to “watch over one another in love.” They gather to connect with God through shared experiences, by serving together, learning from one another, and building relationships based on love and mutual trust.
Men’s Transformational Groups meet weekly to ask one another two of John Wesley’s historic questions— “How is it with your soul?” and “How is your life in God?” By sharing their stories, they learn from one another how to see God in the good, bad, ugly, and beautiful of life.
55 Alive represents our wisest generation. They meet together in love, fellowship, and service monthly. Through travels and various learning opportunities, they seek to be people who continue to grow in their faith.
Wednesday Nights at Scioto Ridge brings people together during the week to share a meal together and participate in a discipleship learning experience.
Life-App Classes are short-term classes designed
to help people bridge the gap between Scripture and everyday life. There are courses in parenting, relationships, emotional health, spiritual growth, and more.
DISCIPLE Courses take students deep into Scripture through reading, studying, and fellowship during 32 to 34 week sessions.
Financial Peace University teaches people to steward their money. Utilizing Dave Ramsey’s nationally known teaching, students learn how to cut debt and spending while learning how to save and give.
Matthew 28: 18-20
Adult Special Needs Sunday School offers people with special needs a safe and loving environment to grow as disciples of Jesus. Through fellowship, lessons, singing, and creative arts, adults with special needs mature in their faith with the love and care of qualified and trained adult servants.
Women’s Bible Study Groups offer women of all ages the opportunity to gather and learn how to be disciples of Jesus Christ through their study groups.
Special Events are day and weekend long learning intensives in spiritual formation, finances, parenting, marriage, social justice issues, and more.
Emmaus Walks allow Scioto Ridge the opportunity to attend and serve on a special retreat where they encounter the overwhelming love of God.
United Methodist Women is an international United Methodist ministry that emphasizes missions and social justice. UMW equips and empowers women of all ages to grow in their faith and use their unique gifts to serve others as witnesses for Jesus Christ.
