“We recently began looking for ways to serve as a family, a couple, and as individuals. Last year, the three of us bussed tables and worked the drive-thru during the Missions Chicken BBQ dinner. Ben and I serve communion in the balcony where we sit for worship. We also took Financial Peace University last fall and that changed our lives by helping us understand our finances, opened communication in our marriage, and taught us to increase our tithing by telling our money what to do. This year, Greg and Katie Elsass—the Financial Peace University leaders—asked us to lead break out group discussions. It has been a joy to help others learn to crush debt! This summer, I took a week off work to serve at Vacation Bible School and loved meeting new people. Serving at Scioto Ridge taught us to serve outside of church too. This year, while out of town, we are working with another church that serves a Thanksgiving meal. Serving at church fills our cup by filling our hearts and spirits with joy. We want to show our daughter how important it is to serve God by serving others.”
