 SERVING AS ONE 2019-2020
FAMILY MINISTRY
Then little children were being brought to him in order that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples spoke sternly to those who brought them; but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.” Matthew 19:13-14
Family, in all its beautiful forms, is a critical part of our ministry at Scioto Ridge. We value the building and supporting of healthy family relationships. Whether single or married, widowed or divorced, whatever your family looks like, we are ready to walk alongside and face the challenges of life with you. Everything we do in Family Ministries centers on equipping families to grow as disciples of Jesus.
Serving means using the gifts and abilities that God has given you to help others. Giving unto others is a vital way of exemplifying God’s love for children. The possibilities to serve and connect in Family Ministries are endless. Whether behind the scenes or one-on-one with children, youth or adults, your example of service shows these children and youth how important it is to love others.
Upward Sports Ministry opens our doors to hundreds of young basketball players and cheerleaders in the winter. This is a completely servant driven ministry. Coaches, referees, and concession stand servants make this ministry one of our largest serving opportunities.
Mom’s Day Out has been a ministry of Scioto Ridge for decades. Parents can bring their children for one day a week during the school year knowing that they are loved and cared for by a staff of incredible caregivers.
Moms of Preschoolers or MOPS is a program that helps build friendships with other moms in our community
with children from conception through kindergarten. Scioto Ridge offers a morning and evening group to accommodate varying schedules.
Elementary Mom’s at

Parent Connect is a quarterly time of conversation and discussion on different topics related to families.
Family Leadership Board consists of twelve members who use their passions to develop ministries that will help families learn to follow God, love others, and share Jesus.

• Increasing the number of servants and participants in our Upward Sports Ministry.
• Exploring ways to create new groups and learning opportunities for our members and community.
• Creating more outreach programs designed to show others the love of Jesus.
• Providing quarterly mission opportunities for families.
