she did not move in the car. She wears me down. If I go to bed she scratches the sheets. If I don't give in, she makes authoritarian meows and then I give in... When she wants to eat, nothing stops her. She's gained a kilo since she was spayed. She's very “cold”, not very affectionate. During the day she is much calmer, doesn't like to cuddle too much."
So the first prescription is Bryonia MK based on
• Suppressed eruption
• Fear of starvation
• General aggravated by cold ambience
• Fear of poverty
• Very quiet - independent
given for three days.
Ten days later the owner reports on the phone: Bryonia made her urinate a lot for three days but always next to the litter box. For the rest, no change.
Telephone prescription: Sulfur 200 K for three days.
On the same symptoms as well as above plus “eats quickly”.
Ten days after the owner reports on the phone: apparently it's a success. "She eats less, wakes me up less at night, has lost five hundred grams and pees a little more in the litter box."
No prescription.
A month later the owner reports on the phone: she has lost another three hundred grams, but now she doesn't eat enough, nothing makes her want to eat. "She is a little calmer than before except in the night when she is very agitated: she comes, jumps on my feet, rolls around on the floor but doesn't want to eat anymore.
Repeat Sulfur 200 K for three days
One week later:
New consultation: "This time Miquette is anorexic. Yet she no longer loses weight but she doesn't want to eat much either. She isolates herself, stays in bed all the time, except during the night when she keeps me awake. She wants to communicate with me at night, by any means necessary. She constantly pees beside the litter box. It is discouraging that she is indifferent to everything I do for her. I have the impression that it is a mistake that I took her in. She's like a depressed person. There are moments at night, when she wakes me up, she lies on top of me and she purrs. Then it's a pleasure. She doesn't steal food anymore; food is not important to her.
The pee next to the litter box? It's deliberate, I'm sure. It looks like she's angry. I went on vacation for a week, she behaved the same way. She was peeing and pooping by the side of the litter box. She could go outside, but she didn't want to.
• When I adopted her, she had eczema on her teats, it was after the treatment that she started to do her business next to her litter box.
• Is she scared? When she hears the bell she runs away, she doesn't meet people but runs away.
• It is only in the night when she wants to play a little." Solution:
Really the striking symptom is this desire to play at night. I noticed it at the first consultation, but I thought, it's a cat, not so strange that it plays at night, so I preferred a (too) classical repertorisation to my desire to immediately prescribe Cypripedium.
But now I find that the behaviour is really out of the ordinary, so Miquette receives Cypripedium 30 CH for three days based solely on this agitation and desire to play at night and comforted by this indifference to everything the owner does.
And after ten days the owner updates me on the phone. Madame tells me that Miquette is transformed, happy, eats better and... pees in her litter box.
Will it last? I hope so, because unlike the improvement of the first treatment (which was actually an aggravation: decreased appetite, sadness), here Miquette is happy. She always comes to join Madame in bed and asks to play only twice a night, but she seems less annoying.
I would ask her owner not to give in too quickly.
Three months later the owner updates me on the phone: "Everything is fine. Miquette prefers the night like many cats, but is happy, lets me sleep and eats normally."
One year later the owner updates me on the phone: "During the holidays, I had visiting friends staying with a dog. Miquette sometimes starts doing her business again next to the litter box”.
Prescription: Cypripedium 30 CH
Two years later: No relapse to date. Miquette and her owner are happy.
