Most of the schools require the candidate
to pass an entrance examination. These ex-
aminations are not technical in character.
They are designed to test the general infor-
mation of the candidate, especially his knowl-
edge of literature, history, current events,
and at least one modern language, generally
either French or German. Many of the
schools issue specimen sets of questions which
have been asked in previous examinations.
Below is a sample question paper used at one
of the schools.
