The North Texas Chapter of The Distinguished Flying Cross Society includes members from World War II forward. The Chapter isnow in its second year of existence and the officers are listed above. The Chapter meets at the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field, Dallas, Texas, on the third Wednesday of each Quarter. The Chapter is made up of a very diverse and interesting group of individuals. We have aspeaker for each of our meetings whose subject matter is appropriate for the audience. A recent development in our Chapter consists of "elevator speech- es" that last approximately four (4) minutes so each of the members will get to know the other members on a closer basis. ThePresident and our Chapter members are very proud of the accomplishments of this group and their service to the United States of America."
I would like to thank all of the San Diego Lindbergh Chapter Board Members for another great luncheon on Tuesday, De-
cember 10th. Everyone who attended really had a good time and, it was a fantastic turnout. You (and the Miramar Club) managed to handle the large number of walk-ins extremely well and, the raffle prizes were very much appreciated. The outstanding music really put people in the Christmas spirit. It was a very uplifting event.. We welcomed Mark Carlson, the aviation author and DFCS sup- porter, as an Honorary Member of the San Diego Lindbergh Chap- ter. The really good feelings continued when Jack King introduced L/CPL Jose Antonio Gasca and his family and presented them with a $600 gift card from the Chapter. Gene Alfaro presented him with a copy of On Heroic Wings: Stories of the Distinguished Flying Cross. Theywerereallyappreciativeofbeinghonoredand, obviously with two very young children, the gift card will really help them at Christmas. The raffle and sing=along made everyone feel festive, as nobody seemed to be in a hurry to leave. Thanks to Linda King, who seemed to be everywhere doing everything including photog- raphy (as seen here).
