GLEN G. LARSON
#4 The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (Third Oak Leaf Cluster) to First Lieutenant Glen G. Larson for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-4D Aircraft Commander in Southeast Asia on 8 February, 1973. On that date, while acting as a Fast Forward Air Controller using the special LASER equipped F-4D aircraft, Lieutenant Larson directed the destruction of a large
hostile convoy of trucks. During the
operation, Lieutenant Larson was constantly subjected to intense hostile ground fire while operating in a dangerous surface-to-air missile environment. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Larson reflect great credit upon himself and the United
States Air Force.
RICHARD M. JOHNSON
The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Staff Sergeant Richard M. Johnson for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a C- 130E Flight Engineer at Khe Sanh, Republic of Vietnam, on 30 May, 1968. On that date, Sergeant Johnson and his crew flew an urgent airlift mission consisting of three sorties to deliver highly explosive combat essential ammunition urgently
needed by friendly forces defending
Khe Sanh. In spite of the hazards of descending through intense hostile antiaircraft fire, Sergeant Johnson, with outstanding determination and professionalism, performed his duties in such a manner to make possible the successful completion of this vital mission. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Sergeant Johnson reflect great credit upon himself and the
United States Air Force.
RANDAU F. WIMMER
The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain, then First Lieutenant, Randau F. Wimmer for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a B-52G Navigator near Dong Hoi,
North Vietnam, on 30 December, 1972. On
that date, he was responsible for precise Navigation and Bombing assistance. His professional excellence and dedication to
duty resulted in the accurate delivery of an ordnance on the assigned target, despite the immediate threat from surface-to- air missiles. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Wimmer reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
