GLEN G. LARSON
#1 The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant Glen G. Larson for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-4D Aircraft Commander in Southeast Asia on 31 May 1972. On that date, Lieutenant Larson, despite adverse weather conditions and massive air defenses ranging from all calibers of antiaircraft artillery, hostile aircraft and the highly dangerous
surface to air missiles, attacked and
destroyed one of the most vital electrical generating power plants in North Vietnam. This devastating
blow to the hostile force’s logistical resources successfully halted the flow of essential electric power to the extensive industrial complexes in the surrounding area. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Larson reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

despite several engagements by hostile aircraft, numerous surface-to-air missile launchings, and extremely accurate
antiaircraft artillery directed at the flight. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Larson reflect great credit upon himself and the
United States Air Force.

#3 The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (Second Oak Leaf Cluster) to First Lieutenant Glen G. Larson for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-4D Aircraft Commander in Southeast Asia on 25 November 1972. On that date, Lieutenant Larson flew a successful mass night chaff drop in support of B-52 fighter- bombers in North Vietnam. Despite
numerous surface-to-air missiles fired at this flight, Lieutenant Larson continued on course, assuring that the chaff corridor
was laid perfectly, thus protecting the B-52 fighter-bombers from attack. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Larson reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
