DFC Society Organization
Founded by two-time DFC awardee Alexander D. Ciurczak on June 6th, 1994, and headquartered in San Diego, California, the Distinguished Flying Cross Society honors those men and women who have demonstrated their heroism or extraordinary achievements in aerial flight resulting in the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC). The Society continuously seeks out DFC recipients while increasing awareness of the award itself and educating the population at large. To that end, the Society reaches out to the public, members and potential members through the efforts of volunteers who serve on the Board of Directors and in DFCS Chapters throughout the country.
