10 THE SOJOURNER
MID-WINTER MEETING
The Mid-Winter Meeting (MWM) was held 10-13 January 2025, with 103 physical attendees
(68 Sojourners and 35 Guests) which is a 16% increase over last year. It was a time and place for National
committee and officer meetings, workshops and training, and socializing. Highlights or events worth noting
from the MWM include the National Secretary meeting with Chapter Secretaries and Area and Regional
Representatives; discussing their duties and responsibilities; various updates at the National Office including
the National Sojourners (MMS) and website; and an informal yet informative Q&A session. All the meetings
were held in the same main ballroom which avoided timing conflicts, allowed for more participation, and
disseminated more information to a broader audience. Various National committees met and held discussions
relative to their responsibilities. The Resolutions Committee met twice to discuss proposed resolutions for the
upcoming ANC. The resolutions will be published in the next issue of The Sojourner (Spring issue) in
preparation for the next Annual National Convention (ANC). Various topics concerning the next ANC were
discussed.
Speaking of the next ANC, I hope you are making plans now to attend our ANC in Omaha, Nebraska this
coming 5-10 June 2025. I checked our website while writing this and it indicates that NASOCOCO will have
registration information by late February so make sure you keep checking back for that. If your cable tow is
short and unable to attend the entire convention, try and just attend the business sessions. Registration and
other information regarding the ANC will be posted in the members area of our website
(nationalsojourners.org) once NASOCOCO has completed the setup for online registration and the agenda.
Remember to purchase an ad in the ANC Souvenir Ad Book. (found in this issue of The Sojourner, or the
website or through your Secretary) It’s a fun project for you or your Chapter and it helps to defer costs of
holding an ANC. Anyone may purchase an ad – individual members, Chapters, Committees or a group of
friends. Be creative and have fun with it and support the National Sojourners ANC!
