 Acoustic Printed Membrane:
By combining a printed layer of Laqfoil Descor several inches below the ceiling with a second layer of perforated acoustic Laqfoil Descor membrane above it, sound can be highly controlled. When a sound wave hits the first printed layer, it vibrates. This vibration reduces the energy in the sound wave. When it hits the second acoustic sheet above, it is forced through the perforations, which has the effect of converting sound energy into thermal (heat) energy. This transformation further decreases the sound wave’s energy and reduces reverberation. Now, to make it back to the room, what’s left of the wave will have to bounce off of the solid ceiling and pass through both layers of membrane again. It hasn’t got much of a chance!
