 Steps:
1. The area to be covered is accurately measured, and if the Laqfoil Descor fabric is to be printed, the printing is done to full scale, with a bleed around the edges of 1 to 4 inches, depending on the size and complexity of the area to be covered.
2. Plastic framing profiles are attached around the entire perimeter of the area to be covered, whether it is a wall, ceiling or independent sculpture (The part of the profile which shows is a mere 10mm [3.93”]). Usually standard drywall screws are used, spaced at about 6”. Profiles may be bent or installed in any shape, incorporating curves, straight lines, and angles as specified.
3. A proprietary spatula, simple looking but designed for this specific purpose, is used to push the membrane into the profiles, starting with the sides that are nearest the center and working out toward the farthest areas, usually corners.
4. If small wrinkles appear, the fabric may be heated, which causes a stretching and shrinking that smooths them out.
5. Reinforcing rings are installed around ceiling or wall fixtures, after which the membrane in the center of the ring is cut out. The fixture can then be fitted through the ring and secured with decorative trim.
6. By simply pulling the fabric from a different angle than it is normally tensioned to, it can be removed so as to change the material... and remember, the old material is recyclable!
100 square feet of printed material can be installed by one professionally trained installer in less than two hours, including screwing in the framing profiles. Removal takes less than twenty minutes.
