meditation are not something you will need to stop doing as you age. You can do it your entire life and still benefit.
If you have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) you can call on the practice like it is medication or vitamins that you have to take daily...and this is especially true when you have your own Service Dog because they might be able to participate alongside in the practice of DOGA. Watching the men and the women received their dogs at Canines for Warriors was so beautiful to see. I could understand how they were going to rely so much on an animal to give them so much support. I was privileged to teach DOGA classes with Canines for Warriors in Jacksonville, FL (https://www.k9sforwarriors.org/). Adding Yoga and Service Dogs to help 'care' for our Veterans helps make their lives better in more ways than you can possibly count. The purpose in life for these Veterans is to help them to feel better, to be a companion, to assist them with mobility issues, and so many other things. If a Service Dog can help us in this way then why not reach for them in every possible way we can, including doing DOGA. This can be an immediate solution and tangible medicine with no side-effects except for happiness and an unfailing sense of acceptance from your canine.
