 so I am on full retirement, full benefits...if it weren't for the military I wouldn't be here today. About two years ago, I went in for a blood clot, and it was supposed to be a quick procedure,
only 30 minutes, but when they put me under sedation, they ended up losing my heart rate...O2...everything. They ended up putting me into a medically induced coma for a month trying to figure out what was going on because every time they tried to take me off oxygen and life support, they kept losing me. It took them about a month to figure out what was happening. I have late stage pulmonary hypertension. Basically, one side of your heart pumps blood throughout your body and the other part of your heart is just to get oxygen from your lungs. The vessels in my lungs are very constricted and hardened so they are not able to open up, so my heart has to work twice as hard to force the blood through the veins. The first warning of that was that I was getting very bloated. When I got out of the coma, my body was in a condition that they said I only had three to five years to live. That was my life expectancy. With medications I have been taking, I am doing a little bit better now. I am a Class 2 rather than a Class 4. Before the only thing that was going to save me was a lung transplant. Now I have seven to 10 years...maybe more.
I kind of gave up on playing video games because I only had the use of one arm...so I figured that I wasn't going to play video games ever again. Then along came a friend of mine who managed to find a one-handed controller for me to use. It had all the buttons on this one controller so that I could play the video games with just one hand. So, I started playing like that and I got pretty good at it. The PlayStation 2 came out with the dual sticks and again I figured that I was done with video games because of my limitations. I finally got to the point that I decided that I had to learn how to play with what was available. So, I started using my mouth as
