When we sampled a group of 155 REBOOT participants from 33 nationwide locations who had completed our 12-week combat trauma healing course, we utilized PROMIS 29, a National Institute of Health self-reporting tool that measures health-related quality for physical, mental and social well-being. When post-intervention measurements were compared to baseline measurements there was a statistically significant reduction in anxiety, depression, fatigue, sleep disturbance, and an improvement in the ability to participate in social roles and activities.
Additionally, the program had a positive effect in a selection of PROMIS 29 domains including Quality of Life and all domains of the Character Fitness Rating Scale (additional information is available via the website at: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ pmc/articles/PMC4471856/).
Participants also reported high levels of satisfaction with the course and a majority reported a desire to stay involved with the program.
Five reasons you should try REBOOT:
REBOOT is led by fellow combat Veterans and spouses. Our leaders have lived it, learned from it, and want to help lift you out of it. Within our groups, every member is the same — no rank, no uniforms, no titles, and total privacy.
REBOOT is there for the whole family. Spouses and families are encouraged to participate. The course is designed to help married couples to reopen lines of communication and to heal together.
