Page 781 - Total War on PTSD

I have been contacted by multiple people involved with rescues and Service Dog training agencies. Some people have even offered to place dogs with me free of cost. I have seen hundreds of dogs up for adoption since then, and none of them drew me in but one dog a county over from where I currently live, who I am in the process of going to visit. The dog looks very similar to Doctor Indiana Bones, and I feel that is what ultimately drew me in, next to the fact that he is in danger because he is currently residing in a high kill shelter. He is the same breed, an American Pit Bull Terrier, three years old, and gorgeous. He even has some prior training, although none of it service related. So, service training him would be an in-house thing again in this case. I’m going to meet him as soon as possible.
Bones had his favorite toy, a yellow rope for playing tug-o-war; a favorite treat, Bacon; and a favorite bed, mine of course...even though he had one of his own to sleep in, which was plush with fleece and memory foam, and quite expensive. Constantly by my side was where he felt he belonged.
Awake or asleep, he was always there for me...as my partner...my colleague...and my best friend.
