 more of a sense of pride and I can think of no other reasons but the eras they belonged to and the support and friendship of their fellow Veterans.
Other than the possibility that my uniform might not fit (due to medications identified later that caused weight issues), I have been very uncomfortable with the thought of wearing my Navy uniform at all.
I also don’t feel as much a part of the Navy team any longer because of the way I had to leave the Navy. I was part of the Navy team as soon as I joined the Navy in 2000, and enjoyed the connections I fostered for a majority of my career, until my medical needs overwhelmed my professional needs and I was forced to accept my path to medical retirement.
