due to my PTSD, depression and Agoraphobia (anxiety disorder) interfering too much for me to continue.
I am currently going through training with my Service Dog at Midwest Battle Buddies. His name is Kai, which means safe harbor, which is perfect because he is my safe harbor and the ocean is my calm place to spend time. He was born in May of 2016 and I received him at eight weeks old from the breeder. He is a Cavapoo (a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mixed with a Poodle).
Kai graduated in March of 2018. So, he is a fully certified Service Dog now. He is doing great. We met for training with Midwest Battle Buddies one day each week and did training at a local mall for his advanced training. During beginning sessions, we trained at a local technical college on the weekends. The trainer went over items/activities needed to pass the Service Dog testing with us so that we could train our dogs on our own on other days. Our whole group got a kick out of Kai when we are training because, instead of stopping to sit and itch, he will try to itch "on the fly" while walking and it looked like he had three legs when he did that. It's just too funny.
He will want you to chase him, and will go around and round and circles, and if you don't chase him, he'll kind of whine/bark at you to get you to come get him. As soon as you get near him, he'll run off over and over again. He'll go and hop on furniture, everything. It's kind of funny to watch him doing this. And he will also, after he drinks water, he is kind of wet around his mouth. So, he use a blanket, a bed, the carpet, anything he can wipe his face off with, he will rub his face on it to get it dry.
