A Vietnam Air Force Vet with a crush on one of our males named Cochise. She has become a regular here. Cochise is a MacKenzie wolf with red fur and she is a red head too. She is prone to sitting alone meditating until she mingles with the Wolves. Her face lights up, her eyes sparkle and she becomes more conversational with other visitors. Her son and daughter survived the shooter in Las Vegas in 2018, but they had friends who did
not. Even though her daughter is deathly afraid of dogs, she asked her mom to call us and see if she and her friend could come and sit with the wolves. Of course and always, would be our answer.
An Iraqi Vet and our neighbor shared with us that he had PTSD and a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). He also lost his hearing in one ear. He said his job was to detect and dismantle land mines and that he “messed up.” I could tell by the sound of his voice that he blamed himself for his injuries.
