Page 1048 - Total War on PTSD
P. 1048

Now, when I stand outside I can actually feel the rain on my face...I can smell the rain...and I can tilt up my face and accept the feelings that come...even if there might still sometimes be tears that run down my cheeks along with the raindrops.
Dear Friends:
I hope that, by this time, the bricks that your built your wall up with to protect yourself from others, and even maybe to protect yourself from yourself, has been dismantled, brick-by-brick...even if might have had to put one back once in a while. That wall was there to protect you when you needed it, and you were able to take it down when you were ready and had the tools to build your own brick path towards recovery. My hope is that, by this time, your personal copy of this book is dog-eared and bookmarked throughout. I hope...better yet...I dream...that the ideas, concepts and advances represented in this book have taken you places you have never before imagined you could go on your very own road...your own path...to personal recovery. Because it is your path and no one else’s. You must always recognize and discovery your own right path for yourself. My hope is that, like my own, that your trust has been restored in yourself, as well as others. I pray that you have found what ‘colors your world’. I also hope you have shared the information you have gained with friends...or maybe even got them a copy of this book so they could have one of their own...if you knew it could help them as much as it has helped you.
