course, I had no problem with home sickness. The last place I wanted to go was back home to live with
my parents, especially my Dad! He would have been no fun!

My new roommate turned out to be Kuldip Gill, an Indian student from Nairobi, Kenya. Even if she got

homesick there was no way she was going to return home and no way I was going to lose her as a
roommate. Although our backgrounds were quite different and she was the first Indian I had ever met,
               we bonded and became friends!

The close friends I made at Spelman remain my closest friends today. I consider my classmates my
sisters. We remain extremely supportive of each other both in times of joy and sorrow. We rejoice and
fellowship whenever we come together. We’ll ever faithful be throughout eternity,” to quote the Spelman

               hymn.
