04-326 DIAGNOSTICS - ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM

04 LOW IDLE ADJUSTMENT SWITCH MALFUNCTION

Fault phenomenon Diagnosis logic Possible reasons
Low idle adjustment switch • Electronic throttle valve • Electronic throttle fault
malfunction • ECM • ECM fault

           Diagnosis Procedure

1 . Check the engine data
           (a) Ignition switch: OFF.
           (b) Connect the diagnosis tool with the fault diagnosis connector (16 pins) on the lower
                  left of the dashboard.
           (c) Ignition switch: ON, and start the diagnostic tool.
           (d) Read the motor data shown on the diagnostic tool.

Check whether the data flow is normal or not.
           YES>To step 2.

           No >Maintenance related faults.

2 . Check the electronic throttle
           (a) Check whether the electronic throttle has carbon deposits, blockage, stagnation and
                  so on.

           Is the inspection result normal?
           YES>To step 3.
NO >Clean carbon deposits and repair related faults.

           3 . Replace ECM
           (a) Replace ECM. (Refer to "Chapter 11 Engine control system, Engine control module")
           (b) Check the data flow of the engine, and make sure the engine phenomenon does not
                  exist, the system is normal.
