(a) Along diagonal a, b, check the junction
surface evenness of the intake manifold and
the cylinder head with a ruler and a feeler
blade. Replace the bottom of the intake
manifold if unqualified.

(b) Along diagonal a, b, check the cylinder head
flatness in the side of intake manifold with a
ruler and a feeler blade. Replace the cylinder
head if unqualified.
CAUTION

• When measuring the flatness of the intake
manifold, measure the evenness of the
cylinder head by the way.

19 . Visual inspection:
(a) Check whether there following situations occur to the intake manifold. Replace the
damaged parts if needed:
• Structural damage or surface cracks in the upper part of the intake manifold .
• Sealing joint surface damage in the upper part of the intake manifold, resulting
in poor sealing.
