52-16 POWER STEERING - STEERING OIL

DISCHARGE AIR & PURIFY

1 . Precaution. (Refer to "Chapter 52. Power steering - power steering system,

2 . Exhaust

(a) Unscrew and remove the steering oil cap.
WARNING
Keep it clean and avoid any dirt or impurity.

(b) Lift the vehicle so that the front wheels LH
and RH leave the ground simultaneously.

(c) Start the engine in idling.
(d) Turn the steering wheel to the extreme
positions on both sides for several times.

WARNING
Stay no more than 5 seconds when the steering
wheel is at the extreme position, or it may
damage the steering oil pump.
(e) Turn off the engine.

(f) Check for cloudiness or bubble in the steering
oil.
If any cloudiness or bubble in the steering oil,
repeat the process.

CAUTION
If several air discharges are needed due to
cloudiness or bubble in the steering oil, check
for leakage in the return pipe.
