IGEM MEDALS
IGEM MEDALS
SCHEME
RELAUNCHED
WHEN YOU THINK of a gas industry colleague
who is exceptional at their work, who comes to
mind? Do they deserve recognition?
If the answer is yes, you can nominate them
today for an IGEM medal.
Our medals scheme is being relaunched to
reflect the changing industry and to make it
easier for talented gas professionals to receive
the recognition they deserve.
Earlier this year, IGEM’s CEO identified the
need to review the available suite of awards and
medals available for recognition of those working
within our profession. A small group of volunteers
conducted a review of the currently available medals
and awards and made several recommendations to
maximise their uptake and impact.
As a result of the review, we have decided to
simplify the medals scheme, making the awards
more accessible to both members and non-
members. There will now be three levels of award:
gold, silver and bronze and the criteria for each
level has been updated.
This will increase the opportunity for
nominations and make the scheme more
inclusive for both members and non-members
from diverse professional backgrounds.
For more information or if you would like to
make a nomination for 2021, contact Lesley
Ecob via email at lesley@igem.org.uk
