Page 4 - Zhaire Summer Plan Final
P. 4

  Let’s get him better
 Objective
At Texas Tech, Zhaire was a forward who played the 3 and the 4. At 6’4 200lbs, he was a mismatch on the offensive end, and he was able to guard virtually anyone on the defensive end, often matching up with the other team’s best player. However, there is not much upside for a forward his size in the NBA. He must keep developing his game to have a successful NBA career. We must turn him into a NBA guard.
 Our Plan
For Zhaire to be a full time NBA guard, he must improve his overall skill level. He must get better in all of the areas of the game.
• Ball Handling – Improve body/ball movement, needs to be able to drive by people, get to spots and come off PnR
• Finishing – Can’t jump over people consistently like at lower levels. Needs more craft in his finishing game. Must learn to play off 1 foot some.
• Drives – Must develop moves to get by people in late clock situations, get to the rim, don’t stop early, straight drives.
• Shooting – Improve discipline with follow through. Get left hand off the ball. Look into his knees going forward on the bend.
• Basketball IQ – Understand NBA spacing and guard reads. Study the game.
