DEEPAWALI                                  WHAT IF…










 It is a festival of lights      What if we never speak up


 For sweets siblings fight,         Never raise our voices


 Nuclear families come together  There are no candles in times of darkness to light


 Happy is the weather                                    up

                              And no weight to our choices.


 Even the four walls


 Are happy and tall,  What if the only things deemed upon are


 But now,                              presumptuous laws;

 It has become the festival of firecrackers , how?  And show complete disregard to our flaws.






 Its main purpose is lost  What if the world danced to the tunes of


 In firecrackers and frost ,              unprincipled men;

 We should now  And conservative hymns playing now and again.


 Come together and change the ‘how’


                   Would it be a place? Would it be a world?


 Educate the young  With so many inflections of judgemental souls?


 How mother earth is dying young,  Or would it be a never ending whirl,

 Lets make this festival full of joy  With people without instilled goals,


 Instead of firecrackers  and prejudiced leaders wanting everything under


 give them a toy                        their own control ?
