Star Knot
4 Tuck each strand back on itself,
repeating the underlaying pattern of the
point of the star.
5 Lay out the strands so they follow the line
of the crown made in step 3.
6 Now, in turn, tuck each strand down the
small hole in the point of the star, tucking
through both layers of the knot.
7 Turn the knot over so you can see the
bottom of the knot and, in turn, lay the
strand back on itself and tuck up to the
middle of the knot. When all strands have
been tucked, the star knot just requires
systematically working tight. Do a little at
a time.
8 Finished star looking from the side. Either
carry on with your sennit, make a tassle,
or finish with a double crown knot.
9 To finish with a double crown knot first
make a crown knot, each strand inter¬
linking with the next. In turn, tuck each
strand down through the middle of the
Pocket Guide to Knots & Splices
star knot bringing each end out at a
separate point around the lower part of
the star. When all strands have been so
tucked and pulled tight, they can be
trimmed at the lower exit points.
10, 11 The finished knot. Well Done!!!
