CONCLUSION
Overall, the services system in Kompleks Kerja Raya 2 (KKR2 Tower) obeyed the requirements and the
maintenance for the services carry out very well, especially it already recognized as Malaysia’s first
certified high-rise office building under the Green Building Index (GBI). Although it have some problems or
technical issues, the KCJ Engineering Sdn Bhd regularly keep the maintenance in-check so that the
failure of any system can be prevent.
Through this e-book, all of us, the students of AP246 4B (2019/2020) were able to learn about the roles of
each services system in the KKR2 Tower building. The services systems in a building can be categories
into water supply system, electrical system, fire safety system, lift/elevator system and greywater system.
Each of this systems plays an important role in ensuring the building function properly and has the their
own components which have different functions.
Besides, we also found that the maintenance systems is important. Therefore, the spaces and access
provide for the maintenance system must be adequate. For example, we need proper mechanical
transportation for high rise building. If the elevators installed are not services for a period of times, the
users of the elevators in the ‘Kompleks Kerja Raya 2’ would be trapped in the lift and harm their safety.
Other than that, the choice of the type of the system also plays an important role. A right choice of system
will enable the building to save cost and resources. It is important to maintain the Green Building Index
below 90kw/m3/year. This green building might help to protect the environment from pollution and
massive use of natural resources
