Health And Safety Open House
On Tuesday, October 11th, Tampa Fire Rescue in partnership with the Tampa Parks & Recreation Department, hosted a Healthy & Safety Quar- terly Open House. The event took place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, 2200 N. Oregon Ave., Tampa 33607. The event was held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The event featured local organizations from the Tampa Bay area that are focused on the health and wellness of our com- munity. There was vehicle displays from local first re- sponders.
This quarter's theme is Fire Safety. As Fire Pre- vention Week celebrates its 100th anniversary this October, learn all about this year's theme, "Fire won't wait, Plan your escape!"
Fires in homes burn faster than ever. Occu- pants may have as little as two minutes (or even less time) to safely escape a home fire from the time the smoke alarm sounds.
Your ability to get out of a home during a fire de- pends on early warning from smoke alarms and advance planning.
