Family And Friends Day At Allen Temple AME Church
Family and Friends Day was held last month at Allen Temple AME Church. Amongst the many activities for the day was a give-away of more than 2,000 pairs of shoes. The event was geared to children going back to school and senior citizens. Those in attendance enjoyed a grab-and-go sumptuous meal of barbecue chicken, ribs and cole slaw. Rev. Dr. Glenn Dames, Jr., Pastor, hosted the event at Allen Temple.

Atty. Norman Harris with his little bundle of joy, and Dr. Bertha Baker, a member of Allen Temple.
Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Wengay Newton, visiting from St. Petersburg; Terrance LeNoir, 2nd Vice President, Hillsborough NAACP; and Jarvis El-Amin.
One of the activities was brought in by rodeocowboy,GusTrent,whoallowedthe kids to ride the horses he had at the event.
Chloe Coney, Rev. Ernest Coney and Earleshia Oates supported the event.
School Board members Stacy Hahn, and Henry “Shake” Washington, with Bishop Michelle B. Patty, and Mr. and Mrs. Wengay Newton.
