        Black And Qualified
Isn’t it strange that a political party supporting tirades against women who have abortions and tout “family values” would select a reputedly deadbeat dad (Her- shel Walker) who is accused of paying for his girlfriend to have an abortion. Moreover, they choose to support someone for Congress who acts like his IQ is just a tad
bit higher than 80. Indeed, if truth be told, the Black Republican candidate opposing Senator Raphael Warnock appears not even to measure up to half the measure of Rev. Warnock.
That Hershel Walker would be endorsed by Repub- licans is confirmation of the antebellum “grin and skin” syndrome and low expectation. The manner in which Republicans treated President Barack Obama who was a “present” father, loving husband and intel- ligent man confirms that the “grin and skin” syndrome is still alive.
We certainly hope the voters in Georgia will show up in force at the polls and reelect Rev. Warnock, a congressman of whom all voters will be proud. The so- called “Baby-mama drama” is disruptive and focuses on personal derelict responsibility. Therefore, if an elected official’s personal behavior is less than respon- sible, then that official’s irresponsibility could be car- ried over in other areas.
Blacks in America want the world to know that we hold the people who represent us to be just as respon- sible as all other elected officials. We do not accept ir- responsible behavior from anyone – Black or White. Moreover, we demand that Black elected officials en- gage in ethical behavior. Therefore, candidates run- ning for office will not be elected by Blacks just because they are Black.
On the local level, we have a number of Black elected officials who are vying for election or reelec- tion. We certainly support those candidates because they have been diligent in advocating for their commu- nities and deserve reelection. We urge you to make voting a priority. Moreover, when you go to vote, take a relative or neighbor with you. Not voting could result in some unsavory candidates being elected to office. VOTE!
