Nas And Noreaga Squash Beef
NAS AND NOREAGA
The beef between Queen representatives Nas and Noreaga is over. Nas was in Miami last weekend to cele- brate the release of his classic album Illmatic. During his set at LIV, the rapper brought out his longtime foe to hit the stage with him.
The falling out between the one time collaborators was the result of Esco taking shots at N.O.R.E. back in the early 2000’s. This was the result of the infamous issues between Nas and Jay Z. Noreaga was associated with Jay’s Roc-A- Fella Records at the time.
The feud continued for 8 years with both emcees send- ing verbal shots at the other in- cluding Nas dissing Noreaga’s 2002 album God’s Favorite on Power 105. In 2011, Nore pointed to that particular moment as one of the reasons he could not move past his problems with Nas for so long.

HBO Launches Theater Tour Prior To Airing Bessie Smith Biopic
Bessie Smith was a lengendary blues singer in the 1920s and 1930s. Queen Latifah will portray Smith in the HBO biopic.
Nelly’s manager, J. Erv- ing, spilled the beans about his client’s upcoming projects during a sit down with Bill- board. Erving, who also manages John Legend and Miguel, revealed that Nelly and his longtime record label Universal Records parted ways last year and that now he is working as an independ- ent artist. He is working on new music, but his new mate- rial is giving country gram- mar a whole new meaning.
“He’s a free agent on the label side now, and is working on a country-based Heartland EP, which should be really in-

Country EP ‘Heartland’
Legendary singer Bessie Smith, who captivated audi- ences during the 20s and 30s, is set the get the royal treat- ment as Queen Latifah pre- pares the singer in HBO’s “Bessie.” Scheduled to debut on May 16, the biopic follows the story of Smith, once regarded as the best blues songstress of her time.
In honor of the project, HBO has announced the launch of Bessie’s 81 Theater Tour, a private workshop that will utilize top songwriters and producers in order to offer to provide invaluable industry in-
sight as well as mimic how Smith and her peers created their own community of musi- cians prior to the invention of Social Media.
The brainchild of pro- ducer Bryan Michael Cox and songwriter Stacy Barthe, each showcase will feature local artists hand- picked by industry vets, with showcases to be held in New York (April 28th and 30th) and in Los Angeles.
Each event will feature a dinner and a private concert that boasts a special perform- ance at the end.
NICKI MINAJ
DEVON PICKETT
A musician says a fight out- side a Philadelphia bar led to a stabbing that killed a member of rapper Nicki Minaj's tour.
Marcus Kincy testified Tuesday at 31-year-old Pierce Boykin’s preliminary hear- ing.
Boykin is charged with murder in the Feb. 18 stabbing death of 29-year-old Devon Pickett.
A 27-year-old man survived stab wounds to the side and arm.
Kincy says he, Pickett and other members of Minaj’s tour were at Che’ Bar and Grill where a friend worked.
Kincy says they moved outside when the bar closed after a fired employee caused a disturbance.
He says he found Pickett unresponsive on the ground after the stabbing.
A judge is expected to de- termine if there’s sufficient ev- idence to send the case to trial.
