Chargers' Derwin James Reportedly Robbed Of Rolex, Chain At Gunpoint
DERWIN JAMES
Los Angeles Chargers rookie safety Derwin James was reportedly robbed at gun- point in Los Angeles last month while leaving an Ital- ian restaurant with his uncle on Sunset Blvd.
The robbers ran up on James as he approached his Rolls-Royce and made off with his chain as well as a Rolex watch.
The ex-FSU superstar -- the 17th pick in this year's draft -- and his uncle were leaving an Italian restaurant on Sunset Blvd. on June 23 when 2 black males allegedly rushed them and demanded their jewelry. According to a warrant, both of the men had handguns and pointed them at James.
The report states that the culprits fled to a nearby car, but when Derwin tried to give chase in his Rolls-Royce, he discovered three of his tires had been slashed. The suspects are still at large.
James, 20, attended Florida State University for three years but he missed most of his sophomore season on the field due to a knee in- jury. Still, he recorded 186 tackles, including 15 for loss, 5.5 sacks, 3 interceptions and 15 pass breakups during his time with the Seminoles.
Agree To Extension
Won't Report To
With $45M Guaranteed
Training Camp
The Los Angeles Rams and star running back Todd Gurley have reportedly agreed to a four-year con- tract extension worth $60 million, including $45 mil- lion guaranteed, according to reports. Gurley's deal, which will keep him with the Rams for the next six sea- sons, is reportedly the largest guarantee given to a running back and the largest per-year average for any player at the position.
Gurley's massive exten- sion "resets the market for running backs," and provides new benchmarks for other young running backs in search of new deals, such as the Arizona Cardinals' David Johnson and Dallas Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott.
As Gurley fantasy own- ers will attest, the 23-year- old Pro Bowler bounced back from his sophomore slump with a stellar 2017 campaign.
Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones will not report for the start of training camp in hopes that the team will rework his deal. Jones signed a five-year, $71M contract in 2015 that included a $12M signing bonus and $47M guaranteed, but now he's looking for a more lucrative contract.
Jones, 29, still has three years remaining on his cur- rent deal which will pay him $10.5M in the upcoming sea- son as well as $12.5M in 2019 and $11.4M in 2020.
The Falcons told Jones they have not budgeted for a renegotiation this offseason and are focused on contract extensions for defensive

tackle Grady Jarrett, left
tackle Jake Matthews and free safety Ricardo Allen.
The Falcons are set to host their first practice on Friday - Jones could be fined up to $40,000 for each day he misses during the holdout.
TODD GURLEY
In 15 games last season, Gurley rushed for a league- high 13 touchdowns and led the league with 2,093 yards from scrimmage. He was second in rushing yards with 1,305, trailing only Kansas City Chiefs rookie Kareem Hunt, who had 1,327 rush- ing yards in 16 games. Addi- tionally, Gurley racked up 788 receiving yards, second only to New Orleans Saints rookie Alvin Kamara, and pulled in six touchdowns through the air.
Odell Beckham, Jr. Denies Paying $1,000 For Sex
New York Giants wide re- ceiver Odell Beckham, Jr. is currently gearing up to re- port to training camp tomor- row with his teammates, despite rumors that he might holdout.
While Beckham pre- pares for the upcoming sea- son on the field, his attorneys are busy dealing with a man who is suing for an alleged as- sault at OBJ's home and claims that the 25-year old star tried to pay a woman for sex.
Ishmael Temple alleges that he was at a Beverly Hills home owned by Beckham in January, when Beckham or- dered his employees to beat him up. Temple suffered major injuries according to the report, including broken teeth, and he initially sued for

$15M. Beckham's camp de- nied any involvement in the incident, claiming he was being extorted.
On top of that lawsuit, Temple's attorney claims they have evidence that Beckham offered $1,000 to have sex with a woman, as well as "evidence of drugs of the most prohibited types readily available and con- sumed at his parties."
