Judge Orders Social Worker To Wear GPS Monitor
Woman Who Had Baby By 11-Year-Old Boy Arrested

A 25-year-old Port Richey woman was arrested and charged with the sexual bat- tery of an 11-year-old boy. She is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, Ms. Marissa Ashley Mowry was at an undis- closed residence in Hillsbor- ough County in January 2014. Ms. Mowry, then 22, had sexual intercourse with the child that resulted in her be- coming pregnant. The child was born in October 2014.
Police said the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Child Protective Division is assist- ing in the investigation and the child will be placed with a responsible adult.
Ms. Mowry is alleged to have continued having sexual contact with the child on sev- eral occasions while he was between the ages of 11 and 14.
After completing their in- vestigation, detectives ob- tained a warrant and arrested Ms. Mowry Tuesday after- noon. She has been charged with 3 counts of sexual bat- tery by a person over the age of 18 on a victim under the age of 11, which is a capital of- fense, and 11 counts of sexual battery by a custodian over the age of 18 on a child over the age of 11.
A spokesman for the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice said Ms. Mowry admitted committing the of- fenses in a statement given during an interview.
The incident came to light after the Pasco County Sher- iff’s Office received a tip on the Abuse Hotline. They con- tacted the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and forwarded the case on April 11th.
Police Investigate Early Morning Shooting
A Pinellas County judge released a Tampa Social Worker from jail on Wednes- day. However, she was or- dered to wear a GPS and to stay away from her mother- in-law.
Ms. Marissa Mitchell
is accused of harassing her mother-in-law, Ms. Loretta Mitchell, who told the judge she was afraid of her daugh- ter-in-law. She asked the judge to order Ms. Mitchell to wear a GPS monitor and the judge complied with her wishes.
The problems between the two women began last year when allegations of child neglect and domestic violence appeared in divorce documents between Ms. Mitchell and her husband,

Ms. Mitchell, 36, who is a Social Worker with the Hillsborough County School District, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge on June 15th.
Plant City officers were in the area of the 500 block of Laura Street, early Tuesday, when they heard gunshots. When the officers responded to the scene, they discovered that a 49-year-old man had been injured by gunfire.
Police heard the gunshots at approximately 1:43 a.m., and responded to the location. Upon their arrival, they were told that an unidentified Black man fired a high powered rifle at the home of John J. Keeper. Keeper was struck in the right leg and sustained possible bullet fragments to his back and forehead.
Keeper was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injuries. He is expected to recover from his
injuries.
After the shooting, the
Black man was reportedly ob- served leaving the scene in a newer model Hyundai 4-door sedan. The car has been de- scribed as possibly being a sil- ver Sonata, police said.
Several shell casings were recovered in and around the residence. The investigation is continuing.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to the identity, arrest, and conviction of the suspect involved in the shooting.

Suspect Uses Stolen Credit Cards At Jewelry Store
An unidentified man was transported to a local hospi- tal after being shot Wednes- day night. Police learned of the injury after he had a wreck.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office,
the accident took place at the intersection of Big Bend Road and Balm Riverview Road around 11:30 p.m.
Police said his injuries were not life-threatening and the investigation is continu- ing.
Detectives with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice are attempting to identify a man who used stolen credit cards. The incident took place on June 23rd.
According to police, at ap- proximately 12:45 p.m., some- one took a woman’s purse and wallet from inside the Jackson Springs Recreation Center, 8620 Jackson Springs Road. A short time later, a man used the victim’s credit card at the SAFAS Jewelry Store, 8492 W. Hillsborough Avenue. The cards were used again at the Suncom Mobile-Cricket Store, 8486 W. Hillsborough Av- enue.

credit cards is described as a Black man, between the ages of 18 and 22, with short black hair and a medium build.
