50 Cents And Dr. Dre Are Being Sued For P.I.M.P. Beats
50 CENTS AND DR. DRE
50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Tryin' has been established as a classic Hip Hop album. One of the iconic tracks, "P.I.M.P." has come under fire as producer Brandon Parrott has sued Dr. Dre and 50 for jacking a beat he says he sent to the Good Doctor a few years before the G-Unit general's debut album dropped in 2003.
Parrott sent 10 beats to Dr. Dre in 2001, hoping he would use them for his Aftermath En- tertainment artists, including Eminem.
When he found out his track, "BAMBA" was used on "P.I.M.P." he struck a settle- ment with the credited pro- ducer, who claimed that he didn't know Parrott's track was going to end up on the final version of the song. "P.I.M.P." was also remixed with Snoop Dogg, Lloyd Banks and Young Buck.
band and university, popular artists like Dwele, and a host of alumni from all “fields” of expertise, Point and Drive ex- plores this tightly-knit under- ground culture that is the marching band.
Shot over a three-year time period with unprecedented ac- cess, the film intimately ex- plores what it takes to make the band, how its founder Dr. William P. Foster formed the band at the height of segre- gation, its historic rise, unex- pected fall, and comeback after
a 2011 hazing death which al- most stopped the music from playing – indefinitely.
Through original interviews, music, live performances, dancing and rare archival footage and images, we learn that the process of mastering Point and Drive, which is actu- ally the form of precision marching that makes the famed band so eye catching, is so much more – it transfers into an innate bar of excellence that is the measurement and standard for success in their lives.
Patterson, NJ star Fetty Wap made a brief appearance at a board of education meeting along with more than 100 resi- dents in protest of the suspen- sion of popular Eastside High principal Zatiti Moody.
The principal was recently suspended over the controver- sial filming of the video for Fetty Wap’s track “Wake Up,” at Eastside High School.
The controversial video fea- tures scenes with marijuana being smoked along with a pole dancer.
According to North Jersey News, many Patterson resi- dents seemed to be in strong support of Moody, as atten- dees to the protest sported but- tons and t-shirts with the slogan, “Return Principal Moody back to Eastside High School.”
