Man Found Guilty Of Human Trafficking Charges
Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Critical
Investigate Reported Suicide
On Friday morning, Sara- sota Police reported that Ronald McBride, 22, had been found guilty on six felony charges, including human trafficking (sexual). This is the first case, locally, where a suspect has been found guilty of human traf- ficking.
All of the charges stem from a December 2015 case. McBride was found guilty of
human
trafficking
(sexual),
aggravated
assault with
a weapon,
aggravated
battery
with a MCBRIDE deadly
weapon, robbery with a firearm, false imprisonment and sexual battery.
A shooting at an apartment complex early Friday has left one man dead and another in critical condition. The shoot- ing took place early Friday.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, residents at the Manhattan Palm Apartments, 7210 Man- hattan Avenue, reported hear- ing gunshots around 8 a.m. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered an adult man dead inside of a ve- hicle in the parking lot. They also found another man who had been shot in the head in the parking lot.
The man was transported to a local hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. It is believed that the second vic- tim was possibly in the vehicle when he was shot, police said.
Detectives learned during the preliminary investigation, a dark-skinned man was ob- served fleeing from the scene of the shooting. However, in- vestigators have not deter- mined if the man seen fleeing the scene was involved in the shooting.
On Friday, detectives ob- tained a search warrant for the vehicle to continue their investigation.
So far, police have not been able to positively identify ei- ther of the victims. The inves- tigation is continuing.

St. Petersburg Police report that early Saturday morning neighbors at 2475 14th Avenue, South, found the body of Michael McDaniel, 38, hanging from a tree.
Police said McDaniel did not live at the address, and his belongings were found nearby. He had no visible signs of any other trauma to his body, and relatives told authorities he did not suffer from mental health issues.
Man Charged With Molesting Boy In Public Restroom
SOLOMON JOHNSON
St. Petersburg Police have arrested a 33-year-old man on charges he touched a boy under the age of 12 while in a public restroom.
Police said Solomon Johnson first turned the lights off when he entered the bathroom. Then, he went over and grabbed the victim’s but- tocks with both hands, accord- ing to an arrest report. There were other young boys in the restroom.
Police said Johnson stopped grabbing the boy when the victim told him not to touch him. He then turned the lights back on and then shot water from a water gun into the boy’s eyes.
Johnson has been charged with lewd and lascivious mo- lestation and is currently being held on $150,000 bail.
Man Charged With Stealing Star Wars Legos
Brandon Man Killed In Single Car Accident
Last Tuesday, Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 35-year-old New Jersey man for the alleged theft of Star War Legos sets.
Deputies said Shannon J. Kirkley was arrested after he tried to smuggle 12 Lego Star Wars sets, each valued at more than $300, out of a Wesley Chapel Toys R Us Store.
Deputies said Kirkley re- moved a toy chest from its box and stuffed the Lego sets in- side. Workers inside the store saw him on camera removing the security labels from the Lego sets, officials said.
Officials said Kirkley paid for the toy chest but not the Legos concealed inside. A store worker called authori- ties, and deputies arrested Kirkley at the store.
Deputies reportedly knew about Kirkley before the al- leged theft. Toys R Us notified law enforcement agencies that he was stealing Legos in the

Tampa Bay area and at New Jersey stores.
According to an arrest re- port, Kirkley told deputies he was stealing the Legos to sell so he could sustain his cocaine habit.
Kirkley was charged with retail grand theft, resisting ar- rest without violence and pos- session of cocaine. He also had a New Jersey arrest warrant for violating probation.
He is currently being held in jail with his bail set at $7,300.
A 26-year-old man died in a single car accident Thurs- day evening. The accident took place on Broadway Av- enue, around 5:30 p.m.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, Samuel E. Melgar Pineda, of Brandon, was driving a 1993 Honda Civic eastbound on Broadway Avenue. Wit- nesses told police that Pineda accelerated the vehi- cle, but failed to successfully
negotiate the curve at the in- tersection of East Tampa Boulevard and Broadway Av- enue.
The vehicle began to spin and slid off the edge of Broad- way Avenue and struck a wooden utility pole on the passenger’s side.
Pineda was transported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. There were no other passen- gers in his vehicle, police said.
Authorities Searching For Murder Suspect

Bartow Police reported that at 8:16 p.m. Saturday, of- ficers responded to Azalea Gardens Apartments, 1050 Golfview Avenue, in reference to a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found 27-year-old Emily Tensely on the floor of a breezeway in the apartment complex. She was unrespon- sive at that time, and officers began CPR. Polk County EMS responded and Tensley was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound.
The investigation has re- vealed that Tensley became

involved in an altercation with an ex-boyfriend, Patrick Christopher Pan- ton, 21, at her residence. During the altercation, Pan- ton reportedly pointed a handgun toward Tensley, then shot her once in the ab- domen. He then fled the scene.
Detectives have obtained a warrant for Panton’s arrest on charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Anyone with knowledge of Panton’s whereabouts is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
