FAMILY NOTICE
MRS. SCELESTINE L. PRATER DAVIS
A memorial service for Sce- lestine L. Prater Davis, a Tampa native, who passed away in At- lanta, Georgia, will be held on Sunday, July 24th at 6 p.m. at Cathedral of Faith Church, Inc. located at 6304 N. 30th St, Tampa, Florida 33610 under the pastorate of Apostle James H. Howell and Pastor Marzetta Nonette Howell, who is the first cousin, and “brother” of our dearly beloved.
Scelestine L. Prater Davis was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. Scelestine is the daugh- ter of the late Henry & Lettie Prater. Scelestine attended pub- lic schools in Hillsborough County and graduated from Howard W. Blake High School in 1964. As an active student she was a part of the Yellow Jackets in the marching band as a ma- jorette and participated in the schools service clubs. She was baptized and raised in the Greater Bethel Baptist Church where she was known for singing in the Angel Choir and was often heard reciting a well known wel- come address.
Scelestine was married to the late Barry Davis, Sr. where they resided for more than 40 years in Ellenwood, Georgia. From this union came their sons, Gus and Barry Davis Jr. Mrs. Davis began
her education at Florida A&M University and continued her ed- ucation at the prestigious Uni- versity of Tampa where she acquired her bachelors degree, with a major in English Educa- tion. Mrs. Davis was one of the first black students to graduate from the University of Tampa. Scelestine became a member of her beloved sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Incorporated dur- ing her college years. She began her career as an English teacher at Robinson Senior High School in Tampa. Scelestine later relo- cated to Bronx, NY, and worked for the New York Housing Au- thority. She then relocated to At- lanta and accepted a position with the Georgia College Board. A few years later, she moved into a new career with Spelman Col- lege in Atlanta, Georgia where she worked in the Department of Scholarship and Finance.
She leaves to cherish her memories her two sons, Gus and Barry Davis Jr, (Kiana); grand- children, Lennox Davis, TaShawn, Elain, BaRie, Barry Davis III; sister, Evelyn Bennett (Charles Bennett); nieces, Tanya Shepherd, Addison Shepherd; nephews, Charles K. Bennett, III (Wintress Bennett), Charles Bennett IV; cousins, Deborah George, Joel Howell (Heather Howell), Jamel Howell, Jireh Howell, Jaydlin Howell, Chinua George, Willie George, Jr. (Tonya), Tamara (Kevin Camp- bell), Rhonda Jackson, James Johnson, William Jackson (Lynn Jackson); children, Derek Jack- son, Treasure Lynn, Makeilah Jackson, William (Angie Jack- son), Jaiden Jackson, Nikol Ann De’Arien Spencer, Robert Jack- son, Josh Jackson, Jayda Jack- son a host of nieces and nephews and her lifelong friend Mrs. Gladys Carr Blalock. We have many loving and caring memo- ries of her humor and laughter, her love of funny stories, and her care for others.
The church is requesting those in attendance to observe the CDC standards and masks will be mandatory.
MR. TOBIAS WATKINS
A Memorial Service for Mr. Tobias Watkins will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Av- enue, Tampa, FL 33606, with Pastor Donald Lott, Officiating. MASK RECOMMENEDED.
Tobias was a native of Tampa, Fl. He was born on Oc- tober 20th, 1993, to the parents of Apolonia Watkins and Keith Youngblood. Tobias attended Chamberlain High School and later graduated from Stepping Stones High School, Class of 2018. Tobias had an outgoing personality. He enjoyed spend- ing time with his son (T.J.), music, and football. He will never be forgotten.
He was preceeded in death by: his loving grandmother, Marilyn Watkins; great aunt, Jennell Watkins; aunt, Susie Youngblood; and uncle, Ray- mond Youngblood.
He leaves to cherish his lov- ing memories with his son, To- bias Watkins Jr. (T.J.); his mother, Apolonia Watkins; his father, Keith Youngblood; his siblings, Tanisha, Regina, Jas- mine, Adra Watkins, Jaron, Erika, Trey Paulk, and John Dennis; nieces, Cah’ Niyah, Carli Darden, and Violet Soto; nephew, Louis Soto; aunts, Nidja, Victoria Watkins, Sonya Youngblood, and Brenda Youngblood-Viverette; uncle, Jermaine Watkins; great aunts, Shirley Jones (David), Lorraine Mitchell, and Sylvia Watkins; grandfather, John Burnett; and a plethora of cousins, relatives, and friends. Ms. Sharon D. Branton af- fectionately known as “Shell” was born on June 2, 1968 to Claude and Violet Branton in Tampa, Florida. She attended the public schools of Hillsbor- ough County. Ms. Branton was a Manager with Winn Dixie in Jacksonville, Florida for 10 years.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Violet Branton; brother, Jeffery Branton, Ronald Dawkins and uncle, Floyd Dawkins, Jr.

Izraell was born on May 31st, 2022 to Franceta Brown and Rico Maurice Jones Jr. in Bran- don, Florida. Izraell was loved dearly by his family and friends. Though his time on earth was brief, he was a pre- cious gift from GOD, and he will live in our hearts forever more.
