Nationally, people are living longer and that means at some point, a caregiver may play a vital role in their lives.
A caregiver is someone who not only keeps you company, but makes sure you’re taking your medications and that your hygiene is maintained. Care- givers also are trained to han- dle minor medical issues, and are the first point of contact when there’s an emergency.

The Mistress of Ceremonies will be Paulette C. Walker, Ed.D., National President, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, In- corporated. Also scheduled to be a part of the forum are Gladys Gary Vaughn, PhD., Edna Kane Williams, Chloe Coney, and Dora B. Mays.

This forum will be interac- tive as people will ask questions and tell their personal stories. It will also be an opportunity to reach out to African Americans to assist caregivers in caring.
It’s hoped that the forum will help give elders a better quality of life, and follow the tradition that our elders are to be respected and cared for.
Website Updated For HART Customers
On Monday, HART launched a new updated web- site, gohart.org, and said it is a big leap forward from the old site with a colorful new look and more useful information featured in ways easier to find.
The launching of the up- dated website comes just as HART is asking for input on its 10-year Transit Develop- ment plan.
Among the features on the website will be a trip planner based on Google maps with the University of Tampa, Cur- tis Hixon Waterfront Park and other landmarks alternating as the backdrop. The maps and charts from the old web-
site are still available for download, but simple images guide the viewer to the right ones.
HART officials said they are still fine tuning an out- dated generation of schedules
that appear for some routes. The updated website has a new 21st century feel with higher resolution pictures, less text and the availability of Google Translate for speakers
of other languages.
