Teenage Bicyclist Killed Special Events Grant Program Accepting In Traffic Accident Funding Applications Through Jan. 31st
Jazz Reborn Festival
  Nonprofit organizers of fine arts, historic, natural/recreational, culi- nary, lifestyle, or creative in- dustries events have until Jan. 31st to apply for up to $100,000 in matching Spe- cial Events Partnership Grants (SEPG) from Hills- borough County.
The Cultural Assets Commission is accepting ap- plications to grow and sup- port special events that encourage placemaking and community-building out- comes aligned with the County's economic and com- munity prosperity goals.
Events supported by this
program should communi- cate the authentic County story, activate public spaces, and enrich the lives of resi- dents.

  A teenager was fatally in- jured in a traffic accident this weekend. The accident took place at Parsons Avenue, just south of Clemons Road.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the accident took place around 7 p.m.
Police said Terry Martin, 16, crossed Parsons Avenue into the path of an oncoming vehicle. The driver of the 2000 Ford Explorer was trav- eling northbound when the
accident occurred. The driver saw the bicycle just before impact and was unable to avoid the accident.
The front of the SUV struck the left side of the bi- cycle. Martin died at the scene.
The unidentified driver stopped his vehicle, but did not exhibit signs of impair- ment and was cooperative during the investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
 The Jazz Reborn Festival, Tampa’s Best Jazz Festival, has a full artist lineup for the first major weekend event of the New Year!
The lineup, which is filled with rich and diverse jazz talents, is anchored by local artist, Khalea Lynee,’ a
vocalist from St. Petersburg. She has now obtained na- tional recognition for her talent. She will be collabo- rating with saxophonist Marlon Boone and CG2. There are several others who will join the lineup.

DJ’s, DJ Deacon will give that Hip/Funk-Jazz-Soul sound in-between the per- formances.
