Free Food For Those In Need
True Prosperity Evangelis- tic Outreach and its founder, Pastor Cornelius Hamil- ton, announce beginning this Tuesday, anyone in need of food can come by 8751 North 40th Street.
“Starting this Tuesday, and running every Tuesday beginning at 7 p. m., all people have to do is show up and we will give them a box of food.
“My wife, Devlyn and I have put together a strong base to help others, and we’re getting the support that was missing in the past.”
Pastor Hamilton said he’s aware of the problems homeless and poor people have getting help from gov- ernment agencies and some area non-profit groups.
“I can’t understand why anyone should have to go through all of that red tape just to feed themselves or their family.
“It seems some of these agencies have trust issues, and if that’s true they’re in the wrong business. As long as you know why you’re helping someone, what they do with that help is what they will have to answer for.”
Pastor Hamilton said he was raised in an environ- ment where you never said no to a person in need.
“I think God has blessed all who have to share with those who don’t have. We can’t be selfish about what we have, because in the blink of an eye, it can be all gone.
“I consider it a blessing to be able to help other people.’
Pastor Hamilton said
PASTOR CORNELIUS HAMILTON
he’s also preparing to open a residential program for any- one seeking help with sub- stance abuse and other problems.
“The facility will be for men and women and is in the Riverview area.
“We don’t allow a lack of funds to be an excuse for not
participating in this program, and we believe after teaching people to say no to drugs, we want them to say yes to Jesus Christ.”
Pastor Hamilton said the program will be for 18 months, and everyone is screened to see how dedicated they are.
