1 Arrested, 1 Sought In Execution-Style Murder
Brothers Charged In Attempted Murder Case
Detectives have arrested one man and are searching for another in what is being de- scribed as an execution style murder. The crime took place on October 1st shortly after 1 a.m.
According to the Tampa Police Department, 55-year- old DuVaughn A. Shaheed and his passenger were riding in his 2003 Ford Taurus. While at the Ybor Grocery, 3401 N. 15th Street, two men asked them for a ride.
As the vehicle approached 1700 block of E. 18th Avenue, near N. 17th Street, the suspects ordered Shaheed to pull over. At that point, the suspect or- dered the victims to get out of the car, forced both men to re- move their pants, and lay on the ground. At that point, the suspects robbed both men and took their cash and personal items before shooting both of them.
The two men then fled the scene in Shaheed’s car. The vehicle was found the next day.
Shaheed died as a result of his injuries. His passenger, who police have not identified, was admitted to a local hospi- tal in serious condition.
Detectives launched their investigation into the murder and on October 5th, arrested 21-year-old John Jarah Hicks, III, in the 2900 block of E. 25th Avenue. Hicks was charged with first-degree mur- der felony murder, attempted first-degree felony attempted murder, 2 counts of armed robbery, being a felon in pos- session of a firearm, and grand theft of a motor vehicle. Two men surrendered to police Monday in connection with an attempted murder in- vestigation. The incident that left a man in serious condition took place last month.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, shortly before 7:30 a.m., on September 14th, deputies re- sponded to 14660 64th Street N., in Clearwater, in reference to a 9-1-1 call. Man Charged With Impregnating 13-Year-Old

Detectives have arrested a man and charged him with sexual battery of a 13-year-old girl. He is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, 50-year-old Felipe Diaz Hernandez forced the victim to have sexual intercourse with him last year. The victim became pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl in Septem- ber 2017.
Police obtained DNA from Diaz Hernandez and sent it to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for testing. The test confirmed that Diaz Hernandez was the biologi- cal father of the child.
He was arrested on Wednesday at his residence at 5257 Guadalupe Blvd., in Wimauma, and charged with sexual battery (familial/custo- dial) and child abuse.

Police are currently search- ing for the second man in con- nection with the homicide. He is described as a Black man with a light complexion. He is tall with a thin build and was last seen wearing a dark-col- ored jacket and hat.
Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the second mur- der suspect.

During the investigation
that followed, detectives learned Borji had become in- volved in an argument with his cousin, 25-year-old Di- vante Henderson, of Holi- day. The argument reportedly pertained to a relationship Borji had with Divante Henderson’s girlfriend, po- lice said.
Detectives said Divante Henderson and his 30-year- old brother, Christopher Henderson, of Clearwater, drove to Borji’s home and
confronted him. While out- side of the residence, Di- vante Henderson is alleged to have produced a handgun and shot Borji several times in front of witnesses. The two brothers are then said to have gotten into a vehicle and drove away.
Borji continues to recover from the gunshot wounds at Bayfront Medical Center. The Henderson brothers were taken into custody and trans- ported to the Pinellas County Jail. The investigation is con- tinuing, police said.
Young Shooting Victim Found Near Bus Stop Dies
Police are currently inves- tigating a shooting that left a 22-year-old man dead. The incident took place Monday night in East Tampa.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers were dispatched to the inter- section of N. 15th Street and E. Frierson Avenue, around 9 p.m. When they arrived, they discovered Benjamin Ed- ward Mitchell, of Tampa, lying near the bus stop. He was suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Mitchell was transported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. Police have not released any

The investigation into the shooting is active and ongo-
ing.
